Midland Evangelical Free Church loves God and loves people. We believe that a relationship with God comes through a personal trust in Jesus Christ. We are united by a common desire to glorify and serve God in our individual lives, families, church, community, and world.
We are part of the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA). It is a denomination that originated in 1884 when Norwegian, Danish, and Swedish immigrants formed a fellowship of churches in Iowa which eventually merged in 1950 becoming known as the EFCA.
The churches belonging to the EFCA are united around the theological convictions described in the Statement of Faith.

1 Peter 1:15-16; Galatians 5:14-26;
Ephesians 5:18-20; John 15:1-17)

…worshiping in community, contributing financially, exercising spiritual gifts to serve, upholding the doctrines, submitting to the appointed leadership, pursuing unity, and shepherding others to do the same. (Hebrews 10:25; Luke 21:1-4; Acts 2:37-47;
Romans 12:6-8; 1 Timothy 4:16; Hebrews 13:17;

…investing time, talent and treasure to spread the Gospel to the ends of the earth, showing compassion to the poor, and shepherding others to do the same. (Matthew 25:31-46;
Matthew 28:18-20; Luke 24:36-49; Acts 1:8)
…developing believers through a reproducible relational model, coaching and deploying them to do the same. (2 Timothy 2:2)
Core Values are deeply ingrained biblical principles that guide our life together at Midland Evangelical Free Church. Core Values withstand the test of time, remain unchanged, and must never be compromised. Midland Evangelical Free Church has three Core Values:
The Bible instructs us to persist in sound doctrine because if we do, God will save both ourselves and our hearers (1 Timothy 4:16). Further, the Bible warns us to watch out for teachers of false doctrines (1 Timothy 4:1-2; 2 Timothy 4:3-4; 1 John 4:1), rebuke them (Titus 1:9), and call them to repent (Romans 16:17; 2 Thessalonians 3:6).
God, who is holy, commands us to be holy (1 Thessalonians 4:7; 1 Peter 1:15) and present our bodies as holy and acceptable to him (Romans 12:1). We are to confess our sins to each other and pray for each other (James 5:16). The Bible teaches that those in ongoing sin are not born of God (1 John 3:6-10) and will not inherit God’s kingdom (1 Corinthians 6:9-11). We are to call such people to repent (Matthew 18:15-17; 1 Corinthians 5).
The Bible speaks of the importance of maintaining unity within each congregation (Romans 12:16;
1 Corinthians 1:10; Ephesians 4:3; Philippians 2:1-4; 1 Thessalonians 5:13; 1 Peter 3:8). The Bible instructs us to warn divisive people and call them to repent (Titus 3:10-11).
