What could be better than getting to talk about the best news in the whole world? That’s my job. As the Preaching and Teaching Pastor at Midland Free, I have the privilege of being paid to communicate God’s Word. I do this in various venues but primarily through the pulpit.
I also have the privilege of working with an excellent leadership team (our Elders) to determine the mission, vision, and direction of our church. I see God doing great and amazing things as He moves our church family forward. If God is for us, how can we fail? If God is with us, whom shall we fear? If His hand comes off, all will fall. But if His hand rests upon us, then all will be well.
This truth has carried me through many seasons and adventures in life, including a long educational path, a variety of mission trips, and several years of ministry in Missouri and British Columbia. Now that same grace sustains me in the ups and downs and twists and turns of family life and ministry. I’m thankful for God’s grace in every season.
On this fast moving plane, hobbies take a back seat but God helps me maintain my sanity through prayer, working out, spending time with my family, and practicing cheesy jokes on my exceedingly gracious congregation.
