winter 2017 journey classes
January 22-February 26, 2017
Sundays, 9:00 am

As followers of Jesus we are on a journey to make, mature and multiply disciple makers of Jesus. To help you on your journey we are introducing four new Sunday classes in January 2017. These six-week classes will be offered at 9:00 am from January 22 through February 26. Read about each class and register online.

If you desire to take the Spiritual Assessment follow the link on the right or pick up a paper copy in the Ministry Connections boards.

Journey 101: Exploring Christianity

Exploring Christianity is a 6–week class for those in the early stages of their spiritual journey. This 6-week class will address the following 6 questions:

  1. The Bible: Believe it or Not?
  2. Is God Relevant to My Life?
  3. Who is Jesus?
  4. Did Jesus Have a Purpose in Coming?
  5. Can God Accept Me?
  6. How Can I be Forgiven?

If these questions intrigue you, please plan to join leaders Linton Phillips and Mike Ladenburger for this interactive and informative Bible-based study in Room 305.

Journey 201: Growing in Christ

Growing in Christ is an overview for the new believer as well as those already on the path who want to refresh and renew their understanding about a journey with Jesus. We will explore the teachings, practices, and actions which are necessary for a healthy, robust Christian life. All of this is designed to help develop and deepen our relationships with God, fellow believers, and non-believers to become more effective disciple makers of Jesus.

  1. THE BEGINNING: First Steps as a Disciple
  2. THE WAY: More Intimate with Jesus
  3. THE CALL: Your New Identity in Christ
  4. THE TRUTH: Exploring Doctrinal Truths
  5. THE LIFE: Essential Disciplines
  6. THE MISSION: Joining God in His Work

Please join leaders Paul Ries and Dave Walter in Room 307.

Journey 301: Faith in Action

True faith expresses itself in good works. In fact, Jesus’ brother, James, writes: “Faith without works is dead” (James 2:17). Through classroom teaching and practical experiences, this 6-week class will show you how to put your faith into action locally, regionally, and globally. Come and learn how you may invest your time, talent and treasure to show compassion to the poor and spread the Gospel from Midland to the ends of the earth. Join leaders Mike Entner and Tom Steel in Room 309.

Journey 401: Disciple Making

Are you interested in making disciples and living a life fulfilling Jesus’ command to “Make Disciples” (Matthew 28:19-20)? Then this class is for you—designed to train and equip God’s people to be disciple makers. You will be introduced to “Seven Stages for Disciple Making” that you can apply in your own life as you move forward in your spiritual journey to grow and become a disciple maker.

  • Stage 1: Get Right
  • Stage 2: Survey
  • Stage 3: Pray
  • Stage 4: Build Bridges
  • Stage 5: Show Love
  • Stage 6: Make Disciples
  • Stage 7: Begin Again

Join leader Pastor David Jebaratnam in Room 306.
